Kermit, Gonzo, and Miss Piggy are coming to a TV near you. ABC is working on a Muppets TV series—and the first trailer is out today. The show is going to be sort of like a sitcom, shot in the handheld camera style of The Office, (but don't ask Gonzo how he feels about it), and focusing on the behind-the-scenes stories of the Muppets characters we know and love.

The series is set in Los Angeles, and the Muppets all lead seemingly normal adult lives—Fonzie is dating a human, Kermit drives a car, Gonzo wears a printed button-down your kooky uncle from Arizona might wear. There's also—obviously—talk about romance and intrigue between the Muppets: Miss Piggy doesn't want to come back to the show because she's a famous actress now working on a movie, but she does to be close to Kermit. The Muppets all bare their hearts out to the audience in those one-on-one confessional cam moments.

Kermit describes it all as a kind of "adult" version of the Muppets—but the trailer doesn't really give a good sense of how racy the show will be. Still, the jokes seem strong, so as weird as the concept is, maybe it'll work.

Watch the trailer above and decide for yourself. (It's worth it just to hear Kermit complain about the 405.)
