Raven-Symoné, a storied source of dumb thoughts on race, doesn't like the idea of Harriet Tubman on the new $20 bill. Don't worry, though, her explanation wasn't as frightening as you'd expect. She almost had a point, but couldn't quite get there.

Here's what she had to say on The View:

"No offense to everyone that’s going to be mad at me for saying this, I don’t like that idea. I think we need to move a little bit forward. Let me just preface that I understand the history, I get it, trust me, I was taught, I was in that culture. … I would’ve chosen Rosa Parks.

"I would have chosen someone that is closer to the progression that we’re doing now. I know you have to understand history so you don’t repeat it, but that doesn’t happen in our world, because we still repeat history of hating other cultures over and over again. I would choose a different woman, no offense."

Putting Rosa Parks on the $20 isn't a bad idea, but Symoné's reasoning isn't quite up to snuff. Tubman shouldn't be dismissed simply because her achievements predate Parks'. Her contributions to the Underground Railroad are still worth discussing and honoring today, especially because people still "repeat history of hating other cultures."

You were almost there, Raven. You were so close!
