Ellen Albertini Dow, the actress who played the wonderful rapping grandma from The Wedding Singer, died on Monday at the age of 101.
According to the Daily Mail, her longtime agent confirmed Dow's passing away, but the cause of death still hasn't been announced.
Dow was famous for her role as Rosie, one of Adam Sandler's singing students in The Wedding Singer, who rapped the Sugarhill Gang's "Rapper Delight." Dow studied piano, dance and acting from a young age, and later taught acting with her husband in Los Angeles until his death in 1983.
Dow's acting career didn't begin in earnest until she was 71, but even so, she racked up 103 film and TV credits in the last thirty years—her latest was a role alongside Zooey Deschanel in an episode of New Girl in 2013.
One of her most famous roles beside Rosie was as Rachel McAdam's and Isla Fisher's homophobic grandmother in The Wedding Crashers.
Dow also appeared in The Sister Act, Will & Grace, Seinfeld, The Wonder Years, Scrubs, Six Feet Under, My Name is Earl, Family Guy, Cold Case, and many other shows.
