Authorities in Texas say a man shot and killed a college student at a party after an argument over a game of beer pong.

According to the New York Daily News, 39-year-old Ronald McNeil and friends showed up to a graduation party for Texas A&M University student Landon Duke in College Station, Texas on May 3. According to the Daily News, a friend of McNeil's friends got into a fight with one of Duke's friends about the game's rules. As Duke prepared to play with 19-year-old Lacie LaRose, McNeil reportedly fired 14 shots, striking LaRose:

McNeil told police that he accidentally fired while running back up to the house. He told investigators he was just trying to scare the kids at the party with his .40-caliber Glock pistol.

LaRose was shot in the neck.

The Daily News adds that two other people were injured in the shooting, including one who was hit with a piece of shrapnel.

McNeil was arrested and charged with murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and deadly conduct for firing the weapon. He's currently being held at Brazos County Jail.
