The upcoming Game of Thrones season is going to have five new directors—each responsible for two episodes. One of these guys is Jack Bender, formerly from Under the Dome and The Sopranos and another cult favorite, Lost.

And his work history might have a big influence on how the director approaches his two season 6 episodes. In an interview with BGR, Bender talks about his approach to producing television, and what he learned from working on 40 episodes on Lost:

None

This devil-may-care attitude may strike anxiety in the hearts of some Thrones fans—considering the fact that season six is already scripted, but mastermind George R. R. Martin has yet to publish the series' sixth book. Entertainment Weekly wrote earlier this week that season 6 is expected to be the first that "largely extends" beyond the plot from the books.

But Bender sounds confident in the ability of Thrones showrunners, Dan Weiss and David Benioff.

None

Of course, Bender doesn't reveal anything else about the upcoming season—he and the other four directors are sworn to secrecy. He does admit, however, that he's read the scripts for most of the new episodes. The rest of us will just have to wait for the HBO show's return to find out what happens.
