Marisa Tomei Will Play Lesbian Venture Capitalist on 'Empire' Season Two

'Empire' will feature Marisa Tomei as a recurring character on season two.

Deadline reports that Marisa Tomei will join the cast of Empire for the hit hip-hop soap opera's forthcoming second season.

Tomei has signed on to play a recurring character named Mimi Whiteman, a billionaire venture capitalist who loves "hip hop music, social trends, high-end fashion and beautiful women," according to Deadline. No plot details have been released at this time, but Whiteman will somehow become "involved" with the Lyon family.

Tomei joins a list of other awesome guest stars for season two: Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, and Lenny Kravitz. While it's great to hear Tomei will be a regular on the show, the question remains: will producers also snag Eminem? One can only hope.

The season two of Empire premieres on Fox September 23
