Seven employees at the maximum-security prison where Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, the notorious Mexican drug lord, was serving time have been arrested and charged with contributing to Guzman's escape, CNN reports. The office of Mexico's attorney general released a statement today saying that the prison workers will be jailed in Guanajuato while their investigation continues.

On the night of his escape, it took guards 18 minutes to show up at Guzman's cell after losing sight of him on their surveillance video. The office of the attorney general has been investigating whether that delay led to the prisoner's successful escape through a mile-long tunnel constructed just for him.
