Colbert took the American route of immediate panic by stockpiling urine and dating a chicken.

If Stephen Colbert interviewing Eminem on a public access cable show in Monroe, Michigan didn't quite tickle your political satire bone with just the right touch, then the clip above should certainly suffice. Following news of the New York Stock Exchange's brief shutdown on Wednesday, Colbert quickly relocated to his panic-ready bunker where he — judging by the decor — consumed a year's worth of potato chips and immediately starting urinating into plastic jugs.

Colbert also appears on the season finale of underground comic Jerry Seinfeld's Crackle series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, wherein he reveals that The Colbert Report was going to end with or without a new gig on the horizon. "I was ready to stop," Colbert tells Seinfeld. "I was going to stop whether or not [I found a new job]. The Letterman thing fell into my lap."

CBS will premiere the lap-inspired fruits of Colbert's coincidental labor on September 8 in the form of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert — which recently unveiled a shrewd pizza ad at the Ed Sullivan Theater.
