Ridley Scott is returning to space for his next movie, Prometheus 2. In an interview with Empire about The Martain, Scott let slip that Prometheus 2 is definitely up next on his project list — in fact, just two weeks after he shot with Martain star Matt Damon, Scott was spotted in Australia scouting for locations.

There was some speculation whether Scott, who has his hands full directing The Cartel and producing Blade Runner 2 and Alien 5, would make the next Prometheus a priority. There was also concern that The Martian's new release date, which was moved up from spring of 2016 to Oct. 2, 2015, would affect Scott's shooting schedule. The answer, of course, is no: Scott seems to have no problem jumping from one project to the next.

So far we don't know much about the next Prometheus other than that Scott — Earth's resident extraterrestrial expert — plans to introduce a new species of alien in the film. In May several media outlets reported that Prometheus 2's release date would be March 4, 2016, but it looks like the release has been pushed to 2017.
