Nashville police have released a name and photo of the suspected shooter.
They have also said that the gun Montano was carrying was a pellet gun, according to Variety.

The 51-year-old suspect pepper-sprayed three victims before injuring another with the hatchet. According to The Tennessean, the victims were treated at the scene.

Reports are coming in confirming an active shooter situation is underway at a Carmike 8 movie theater in Nashville, Tennessee. According toThe Tennessean and Fox 5 Atlanta, the shooter is dead. A local SWAT team and other law enforcement officials are on the scene, having placed the theater and nearby businesses under a lockdown status. Though no other injuries have been confirmed, witnesses have reported to local authorities that the suspect was armed with a gun and a hatchet. One person was reportedly injured with the hatchet, though that injury has not been confirmed. The suspect reportedly opened fire on police upon their arrival, resulting in a brief battle which resulted in his death.
The suspect left behind two bags, which the SWAT team is currently investigating to ensure no further threats. The incident reportedly took place during a screening of Mad Max: Fury Road.
