It’s been 11 years now since the Disney/Pixar superhero flick, The Incredibles, was released. Now, Brad Bird, the writer and director of the film, has spoken with Collider about work on the second film, the script, and the release date.

Though The Incredibles 2 does not yet have a firm release date, Bird shared that the film has been moved ahead of another Pixar sequel, Cars 3 (which also doesn’t have an official release date). He’s already started working on the script and said he’s about three-quarters of the way through it. “I’ve got a lot of people that worked on the first one working on it,” he told Collider, “so we’re all having a good time with it.”

He didn’t reveal any spoilers or plot details, but largely talked about the work process leading up to the film’s release. “I’m just going to work as fast as I can work well with a relatively small team,” he said, “because I like small teams better, until you’ve got everything firmly figured out.”
