Hugh Jackman as the Next James Bond?

Hugh Jackman was offered the role of James Bond, but that was a few years back, the actor revealed.

Can you picture Hugh Jackman as James Bond? He definitely has an accent, though not really the right one, but he does look pretty cool in a tuxedo.

The producers of the 007 films could certainly picture it, because they approached the Wolverine actor with the role about 10 years ago, according to an interview Jackman gave on Australian TV this week.

"At the time, I was just about to do X-Men 2 and I was like ah, I don't think it's the right time. But it was not an easy one to give up," Jackman told the hosts of The Project.

Of course, we all know the role ended up going to Daniel Craig, but it looks like his time playing Bond will be over once Spectre is released this November.

Asked if he'd consider taking the role now, Jackman said "I'd seriously consider it."

He's 46 years old, which is old to take over the James Bond role, but not necessarily too old.

Roger Moore was 45 the first time he played Bond in the '70s, and 57 when he made his final appearance as the British spy. Sean Connery was 53 in his final Bond movie, Never Say Never Again.

Idris Elba, by the way, is 43. Honestly, if you're putting money on this, odds are against him or Jackman ever getting the role, but you never know.
