Marilyn Scott and her husband Wayne, a 51-year-old Iraq war veteran who was seriously injured by a roadside bomb during his service, are now the latest victims of what is being described as the work of a "serial vandal." While out of town visiting Wayne's mother, the couple's home in Pinellas Park, Florida was spray-painted with the following message:

"Dumb n*****, black lives matter for target practice."

Though local police haven't confirmed whether or not the recent swarm of such racially charged vandalism is the work of a single individual, they have been quick to acknowledge an obvious pattern. "So far, we’ve been able to identify a total of seven different incidents in that particular neighborhood," Pinellas Park Police Sgt. Mike Lynch tells Bay News. "They range from things like "clean up your yard" to the racial epithets."

Wayne's sister shared a photo of the vandalized home on Facebook, expressing the anger shared by many in the neighborhood:

Other spray-painted messages discovered by local authorities include dangerous rhetoric ranging from simply "KKK" to the more direct "impeach Obama, stupid n*****." These incidents are currently under investigation, though no suspects have been named by Pinellas Park Police.
