Get ready for 20th Century FOX World. The veteran movie studio just announced plans to create a theme park and resort titled as such in Dubai, and lowkey, the first slate of movies and TV shows they plan to use as park attractions suggest an extremely lit experience. That list includes Titanic, Planet of the Apes, Ice Age, The Simpsons and, hilariously, Sons of Anarchy. I'm not sure anyone who came away from seven seasons of that gratuitously graphic and disturbing show thought "theme park" when considering ways the legacy would live on. But I digress: if FOX is really down to drop dough the ride possibilities for all the movies and shows listed are through the roof.
Imagine an interactive SoA motorcycle chase ride? Or a fully-recreated Titanic set that "sinks"? Wow. FOX is already building a similar park in Malaysia, while other studios like Lionsgate and Universal (which boast theme-parkable franchises like Hunger Games and Fast and Furious respectively) are planning parks in Asia as well. Can we get some of this heat stateside please?
