A Mississippi man stabbed his parents, his father fatally, when they allegedly excluded him while placing an order for fast food

Sheriff spokesman Col. John Fortunato told the Associated Press that 32-year-old Ronald Pritchett stabbed his parents Percival Pritchett and Renitta Pritchett, 58 and 57 respectively, Wednesday at their home in Gretna, La.. In an email he told the Associated Press, "They ordered food from a fast food restaurant and didn't include him [Ronald Pritchett]."

According to Fortunato, relatives said Pritchett got angry when he found out his parents had gotten food without him and grabbed a knife, heading upstairs to talk to his parents. Fortunato said Pritchett's parents had locked themselves in their bedroom to escape him but he allegedly kicked the door open and stabbed them several times. He stabbed his father in the chest and his mother in the head.

Pritchett was arrested Thursday, said Lamar County Sheriff Danny Rigel, near his hometown of Purvis, Miss. when police located Percival Pritchett's car outside a relatives' house. Pritchett is facing charges for second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder and auto theft said Fortunato.

Pritchett's mother has been released from the hospital according to University Medical Center spokeswoman Aleis Tusa.
