Robert De Niro, the confirmed god of acting who we last saw saying the phrase "giant labia" in the trailer for his forthcoming DJ Zac Efron collaboration Dirty Grandpa, is thankfully no fan of condescension. While presenting an award to Angelina Jolie at the WSJ Magazine Innovator Awards at the Museum of Modern Art earlier this week, dude made a point to inform fellow attendees and this Page Six article that a previous acceptance speech from Slack CEO Stewart Butterfield hit him right in the bad kind of feels.

"We are a long way from San Francisco," Butterfield jabbed while accepting his award, noting that he was in a room of "supermodels and movie stars." Adding that he just received the "nerd award," Butterfield then pointed at De Niro the God and mentioned that he had just watched The Godfather Part II on the plane. "When you killed Don Fanucci," Butterfield reportedly said, "I liked that."

Before gifting Angelina Jolie with another well-earned award, De Niro decided to offer his decidedly De Niro rebuttal to Butterfield’s jokey acceptance speech. "Whoever the last speaker was, I thought you were a bit condescending to us actors, celebrities," De Niro said, according to Page Six. "I’m gonna go on record with you just to say that. And I don’t give a fuck who you are."

Dude’s still got it.
