Washington College in Maryland has reportedly closed its campus and urged students to "shelter in place" after an apparent gun threat, according to the Associated Press. School officials also told faculty not to report to work on Monday as classes had been temporarily suspended. Michael O’Connor, Washington College’s spokesperson, says the parents of a sophomore notified school officials early Monday morning that the student had "returned to his home outside Philadelphia and retrieved a firearm," adding that they had been unable to reach him since.

The school has been providing regular updates on the situation via their website, with the most recent statement confirming the student as Jacob Marberger. Thus far, he has not been spotted on campus:

We received notification early this morning from the parents of sophomore Jacob Marberger that he had returned home and retrieved a firearm. The parents have not been able to reach him and do not know where he is or where is he is headed.
