Bill Murray Speaks Out on the Paris, San Bernardino Attacks: “My Heart is Heavy”

"My heart is heavy because there is a lack of relation between us all."

Bill Murray continues to be one of the coolest guys around. While accepting a special honor for his lengthy career in film at Morocco's Marrakech International Film Festival, he spoke out on the recent attacks in Paris and San Bernardino.

"Each and every man and woman here on the planet is a manifestation of God and to that end we must all work,” he said during his acceptance speech, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s a strange world right now, a very strange world. It was always a very difficult world, a very challenging world.”

More than 120 people died and 300 were injured in the Nov. 13 Paris attacks by ISIS, and two married ISIS supporters fatally shot 14 people on Dec. 2 in San Bernardino, California. These recent incidents have incited national debates on gun control, action over prayer, and even who should be labeled a terrorist. An emotional Murray spoke on a more sentimental level, suggesting a lack of connection between citizens.

He added: "My heart is heavy because of the events in Paris, my heart is heavy because of the events in San Bernardino, my heart is heavy because there is a lack of relation between us all."

Murray closed out the speech by telling the audience: “Thank you and may god bless you all the days of your lives.” Bless you, Bill Murray.
