Michael B. Jordan is brushing off the dust of Fantastic Four and taking a different approach to conquering the world of comic books: actual comic books. Jordan is co-writing an action spy comic set for a 2016 release from Dark Horse Comics, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Nathan Edmondson (Black Widow, The Punisher) has been confirmed as Jordan's writing partner.

Entitled North, Jordan and Edmondson’s collaboration centers on a solider who finds himself involved with a top-secret paramilitary program that messes with his mind to make him some sort of untouchable super spy. Artists Denys Cowan, Bill Sienkiewicz, and Bettie Breitweiser are illustrating the title, which has reportedly already wrapped two issues.

Actors taking a proper dive into the vast world of comics is nothing new, of course. Just ask Shia LaBeouf, whose own foray into the medium initiated a controversial chain of events that ultimately ended up producing some of the most interesting work of his career. Coupled with Jordan’s confirmed status as an actual comic book fan (he first met Edmondson at a comic shop in LA), the alleged possibility of North becoming "an eventual producing vehicle" for the Creed star is likely a sign of some pretty awesome things to come.
