When it comes to the climate change debate, many bring up the possible demise of the polar bears as their food source becomes more and more scare. However, astrophysicist and resident cool guy of science, Neil deGrasse Tyson, pointed out the issue’s biggest victim—Santa Claus.

In an epic Twitter essay, Tyson explains that the melting polar ice caps will not only leave the man in red out of work, but out of a home as well.

All this talk about Polar Bears suffering with Global Warming -- nobody thinks about Santa, the Arctic’s most famous resident
Since the Northern Arctic is just ocean, Santa’s North Pole workshop has only ever existed on a floating sheet of ice.
As Earth warms, and Arctic ice melts, Santa will lose his habitat too. Soon we’ll see photos of him clutched to an ice floe.
Santa is pale because he’s in the middle of six months of darkness on Earth’s North Pole. And he delivers gifts only at night

This isn't the first time the scientist has tackled important pop culture staples. He recently settled the Millennium Falcon versus Starship Enterprise debate and even ventured into the raunchy subject of space sex. Really cool stories, bro.
