An accomplished stuntwoman with such blockbuster movies under her belt as Guardians of the Galaxy, Mad Max: Fury Road, and most recently, the record-breakingStar Wars: The Force Awakens, will have her arm amputated following an on-set accident which left her in a coma.
The stuntwoman, 34-year-old Olivia Jackson from South Africa, suffered a life-threatening accident on the set for the upcoming Resident Evil:The Final Chapter set (also in South Africa) when the motorbike she was on crashed in September. Jackson's bike hit a metal camera arm and was put in a medically-induced coma for two weeks. According to Yahoo Jackson told The Sun, "My left arm is paralysed and is going to have to be amputated. My facial scarring is horrible and I wish I had my old face. But I’m truly grateful to be alive."
After the horrific accident Jackson revealed her extensive injuries in a Facebook status listing “brain bleed, brain swelling" and an amputated thumb as just some of the injuries. "…Not my funnest day on set," she wrote.
Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich called Jackson surviving the accident "a miracle." "All of us here have been praying every single day for her and her family and sending our thoughts out hoping some of the positive energy reaches her, because she truly needs it," said Jovovich.
