A couple from Calgary, Alberta have miraculously recreated the cartoon kitchen from the The Simpsons in their own home. The pair have recreated every aspect of the original kitchen from the hit show, from the blue and yellow tiled floor to the bright pink washer and dryer to those crazy corn-on-the-cob curtains.

Marcia Andreychuk and her boyfriend Joel Hamilton explained to CBC that they couldn’t resist paying tribute to their favourite Sunday night show when they decided to renovate their home. “My significant other and I wanted to do a retro-vation,” Marcia explained.

"We wanted to keep the old, make it new — and one day we had this bizarre, bizarre idea. Why don't we just take what we already have and turn it into The Simpsons' kitchen?"

Fortunately for the Calgary couple, their kitchen already had a similar layout to the beloved Simpson kitchen, so all they had to do was match the colours. How did they do it? Well... they simply covered the appliances, cupboards, and counters with coloured contact paper and then added bright blue doorknobs to the cupboard doors. Obviously, the distinctive corn-themed, curtains weren’t available in stores, so Marcia made those herself. The couple then went out to purchase items like utensil holders and cooking tools to match the ones seen on the series.

The cost of the renovation so far has been about $2,300, but the couple hasn't finished yet. They are now on the lookout for avocado-green appliances.

Obsessed? Maybe a little.  Joel claims to have watched every single episode of the show since it began back in 1989, numerous times.

D’oh.
