There's major anticipation for the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel. The original film grossed more than $300 million at the American box office and spent more than six weeks in the top slot. It's also been declared the best Marvel film to date, according to Iron Man himself.

"Galaxy in some ways is the best Marvel movie ever," Robert Downey Jr. told the Toronto Sun.

The sequel has a lot to live up to. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. will reunite the entire original cast, including Bautista, and also introduce some new faces. Acclaimed actor Kurt Russell is reportedly set to play Star-Lord's father, according to TheWrap.

The movie's director James Gunn told Vulture that the sequel will hone in on father-son relationships.

"There's a lot of stuff I'm excited about in the new movie," he said. "Listen, I'm still excited about Star-Lord's character and where he goes. At its heart, Guardians is a story about families, and if the first film was about him and his mother, this is a story about fathers. So it's exciting to go there."

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. hits theaters on May 5, 2017.
