Hugh Jackman might be quickly approaching his last run as Wolverine, but the Aussie still has enough fight in him to take down fellow Marvel hero Deadpool. While promoting his new movie Eddie the Eagle at Sundance, he was asked whether or not his character could take down Ryan Reynolds in red spandex.

"A hundred percent," Jackman said, according to Yahoo.

It’s not like a beat down would be unwarranted. The "Merc with a Mouth" did take jabs at the mutton chopped character and called his appearance in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine a "career low" (Who can blame him?) during a special bit for "Australia Day." Fortunately, it was all in jest and the unkillable mercenary reassured everyone that he’s "got no problems with Hugh."

As for Jackman, he took no offense to the light-hearted jokes at his character’s expense. "Love it. It’s just brilliant. I mean, I love Ryan, he’s a good mate of mine. He’s so fantastic," he said.

It looks like the only fight you’ll see them partake in is one against their big screen enemies.
