Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice successfully waged war against putrid reviews this weekend, landing a box office debut that’s certainly nothing to balk at. Mathematically speaking, that means a lot of people peeped Lex Luthor's fanfic, presumably in its entirety. However, somewhere in the film's 150 minutes of unapologetic loudness, even the most attentive of viewers may have missed a thing or two.

In their definitive breakdown of Batman v Superman's vast array of Easter eggs, the Mr. Sunday Movies minds get downright scientific with their analysis of everything from predictable references (The Death of Superman because duh) to a relatively unexpected tip of the hat to a late Stormtrooper from the Star Wars canon. Though it goes without saying, this Uproxx-shared clip is relatively liberal with the spoilers. Proceed with caution.

As for those pesky reviews, both Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill have responded to their existence with the assertion that Batman v Superman wasn't made with critics in mind. "Don't scare people into thinking this is a critical film," Affleck told Jimmy Fallon shortly after hanging out with a bunch of superhero dogs. "This is an audience movie. People actually like this movie." Affleck seemed less assured when responding to similar questions during a Yahoo Movies interview, ultimately resulting in the beautiful piece of art below:
