Even in a Superman Shirt, Nobody Recognized Henry Cavill in Times Square

Henry Cavill, aka Superman himself, was walking around New York's Times Square, but nobody seemed to care.

It's everyone's biggest issue with the Superman story. Why is it that a pair of glasses, slumped shoulders, a dorky attitude and a necktie make it impossible for people to recognize that Clark Kent is friggin Superman? You're telling me that even Lois Lane and his best friend Jimmy Olsen,  people who as investigative reporters are literally paid to be extra observant about the world around them, can't recognize their dude?

Except that maybe, today, Henry Cavill proved that it's not really that hard at all for Superman to blend in. Cavill, yes, Superman from Batman v Superman himself, star of the most mainstream movie of the year, went to Times Square, the unholy epicenter of all things mainstream in NYC, and still wasn't recognized. Even without glasses. Even while wearing a Superman t-shirt. Even when standing right by a massive billboard that prominently featured multiple images of his face.

He posted the video proof to his Instagram account with the caption, "Dear Doubter, The glasses are good enough. Regards, Superman."

Or maybe it's just that tourist season hasn't started yet and New Yorkers don't give a f--k.

Either way, we wonder if Batdad Ben Affleck wouldn't have this problem. We also wonder if Henry Cavill just goes around living his everyday life in a Superman t-shirt.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which got a new international trailer this week, comes out March 25.
