Narcos, the drama about drug lord Pablo Escobar, was not only a huge hit for Netflix but also for the show's cast. Pedro Pascal, who plays DEA Agent Javier Peña on the series, was recently cast in Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and now, in perhaps the biggest casting news, it has been announced that actor Boyd Holbrook will star opposite Hugh Jackman as the villain in Wolverine 3.

On Narcos Holbrook plays Steve Murphy, the DEA agent who was put in charge of task force intent on stopping Escobar. In Wolverine 3 his character appears to be a bit less moralistic. In an exclusive with Deadline, it was reported that the actor "will play a relentless, calculating and intense head of security for a global enterprise who is set against Jackman’s clawed Wolverine/Logan hero." The casting is all the bigger deal because Wolverine 3 will apparently mark the last film starring Jackman as the metal-clawed hero. However, it is unclear if the Australian actor will make an appearance in X-Men: Apocalypse, which will open in theaters mid-May.

Narcos, on the other hand, seems to have a long life ahead of it. It was nominated for a Golden Globe for best drama and its second season will premiere later this year. Outside of the series, Holbrook had appeared in several films and television shows. He had a small but substantial role in Gone Girl and made noise earlier this year for his work in The Free World, a small indie that also stars Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss
