Who better to take on the notorious Pablo Escobar than the equally notoriousWalter White? Sadly, such a proposition isn't literally backed up in the first trailer for The Infiltrator. Instead we get Bryan Cranston, confirmed cool guy, as federal customs agent Robert Mazur. The film, based on Mazur's autobiography of the same name, follows the infiltrating methods used to uncover Escobar's penchant for money-laundering.

"Mazur had this belief that the way to bring down the drug cartels was not by chasing the drugs," director Brad Furman toldEntertainment Weekly on Wednesday. "But instead by chasing the money. So he literally went undercover as a money launderer and pulled this string that blew open a gaping, volcanic hole." Forman, who previously directed The Lincoln Lawyer, kept in touch with Cranston (who played a detective in the film) and ultimately decided he was "the only guy" who could bring Mazur's story (back) to life.

Cranston is joined by a veritable sampling of obvious top-shelf talent like Yul Vazquez, Diane Kruger, Benjamin Bratt, John Leguizamo, and many more. Furman is directing from an adapted screenplay by his mother, Ellen Brown Furman. The Infiltrator, presumably perfect for the whole fam, will battle for summer box office glory starting on July 15.
