Warner Bros cannot be stopped. Although the poor box office performance of Batman v Superman—following a record-breaking opening—reportedly scared the company into releasing fewer films, it seems that 2017 is going to be a huge year for the studio. The upcoming Suicide Squad arriving in theaters this summer should tide moviegoers over until two highly anticipated adaptations hit theaters next year. Warner Bros has announced 2017 release dates for both CHiPs and It.

According to an announcement on Screen Crush, Dax Shepard's upcoming action-based comedy CHiPs starring Shepard, Michael Peña, and Kristen Bell will arrive in theaters on Aug. 11, 2017. Peña has mentioned in interviews that the film, based on the popular '80s TV series that follows two California Highway Patrol motorcycle officers, will be more action-packed and serious than the show.

Andres Muschietti's long-awaited adaptation of Stephen King's horror novel It, on the other hand, will come out in theaters on Sept. 9, 2017. While we still don't know who will be starring in the film, we do know that David Kajganich and Gary Dauberman have reworked the original script by director Cary Fukunaga, whose departure from the film sparked some controversy back in 2015.

Warner Bros also announced a PG-13 comedy for Dec. 22, 2017, a week after Star Wars Episode VIII hits theaters. Although the pressure is on to make up for Batman v Superman's terrible reception, it looks like 2017 could be a huge year for Warner Bros.
