Now that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is out of the way, Zack Snyder is gearing up to start filming on the Justice League films. Despite fans petitioning to kick him off the franchise, it looks like he’s sticking around and he might even add another Superman film to the lineup. That is, if the right script comes along.

"I think if we could get a good script, it would be great to have a standalone Superman movie," the director toldIGN. "I think that would be fun to do. Part of the reason we haven’t announced the standalone Superman movie was to support some of the events of (Batman v Superman)."

After Batman v Superman’s lackluster response, there’s the question of whether or not fans want to sit through another dreary Clark Kent adventure. Box office response points to a strong maybe, which is probably why Henry Cavill is so keen on continuing Superman’s story.

The actor said: "I do believe it depends upon the success of this movie. If this goes well then we can start to negotiate with Warner Bros. to develop a standalone Superman, but they’ve got their plan set out for other stuff and Justice Leagues and various other movies. It’s about finding the time really. It’s something I would be very keen to do."

Possibly among those "various other movies?" A Batman script that Ben Affleck penned. Superman will have to jump through a lot of hoops to get another shot at a solo venture on the big screen any time soon.
