Captain America: Civil War is one of the most anticipated superhero films of the year, and luckily we only have to wait a few more days before it makes its U.S. debut. Starring Chris EvansRobert Downey Jr., and several other big names, the film urges viewers to decide whether the lives the Avengers save outweigh the damaging repercussions of their interventions. Civil War scored a huge $14.9 million opening when it debuted overseas on Wednesday, and now it's officially surpassed its projected $200 million mark.

This weekend Civil War scored a jaw-dropping $200.2 million when it debuted to 63% of the international market. It earned the number one spot in every territory in which it debuted except Japan, Collider reports. The huge numbers mark one of the largest international launches ever, finishing just behind last year's Avengers: Age of Ultron.

In the Philippines, Brazil, and Mexico, Civil War broke the record for the all-time biggest film debut, scoring $7.5 million, $12.3 million, and $20.6 million, respectively. It also scored massive earnings in Korea, the UK, and Australia.

The huge numbers are matched by reviews so far. Civil War currently has a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, securing its place as the best-reviewed Marvel film to date. The movie is eyeing a $175 million opening in the U.S. when it debuts on May 6.
