"I didn't mean for it to get this bad." These are the words of Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) in the fresh trailer for Orange Is the New Black's upcoming fourth season, and they just might be a profound understatement. Though the teaser kicks off with some reliably hilarious banter with Taystee (Danielle Brooks) and Suzanne (Uzo Aduba), the two-minute glimpse at the current state of Litchfield gets real dark real fast.

The Peabody-winning Netflix series returns June 17 after slapping bingewatching fans with a Game of Thrones-esque cliffhanger, though the noticeable presence of (SPOILER, lames) Laura Prepon in the recent onslaught of teaser images should be enough to ease worries of Alex's death. Well, at least for now. Though Alex's voice can be heard whispering "Can you keep a secret?" in this trailer, some playful tactics from the Netflix team could mean that's simply teasing another flashback. With the character's paranoia now proven to be nothing less than profound intuition, will she actually be able to walk away from an encounter with Aydin unscathed?

Orange Is the New Black was renewed in February for three more years, with Netflix praising series creator Jenji Kohan's ability as a showrunner to continue blurring the lines between comedy and drama. "Jenji and her team have produced a phenomenal and impactful series that is both funny and dramatic, outrageous and heartfelt," Cindy Holland, Netflix's Vice President of Original Content, said when announcing the three-year agreement. "Audiences around the world have come to love the ladies and men of Orange Is the New Black, and we are eager to see where three more seasons will take them."

Kohan, also known for acclaimed work on Weeds and Sex & the City, called Netflix's commitment to the smash hit series an "honor" and promised to keep things interesting in the seasons ahead. "In some cultures, 'May you lead an interesting life,' is a curse, but I don't live in those cultures," she said. "Here's to keeping it interesting. Thanks Netflix!" That's all good and well, but when are we getting Joe Caputo (Nick Sandow)'s comeback album?
