The similarities here are sort of disturbing.

The Purge movies have always been a sly commentary on society, examining our basest instincts and contemplating what we might turn into if all laws and rules were temporarily banished. The first two movies in the series, whether you noticed or not, are surprisingly germane, but the creators clearly decided to up the relevance for the third installment, The Purge: Election Year

It's right there in the title: this Purge movie is dropping in 2016, in the middle of what has certainly been the wildest election year in United States history. And it goes deeper than thatElection Year centers around a liberal, blonde woman who is running for president against a very white man fronting an elitist, evil-seeming, religion-driven party called the NFFA (New Founding Fathers of America). The party borders on fascism, hates minorities and the lower class, and is definitely in league with the NRA. Sound familiar at all?

It should. The parallels to Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in Election Year are just too real. To prove the point, I made a quiz to see if you can tell the difference between things Donald Trump has said and things members of the NFFA said in Election Year. It's time to play "Who Said It? The Fascist Government From The Purge or Donald Trump?"
