Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street may be nearly 3 years old now, but that doesn't mean the three-hour corruption epic has stopped turning heads. The film served as the unofficial arrival of Margot Robbie, who starred as Naomi Lapaglia alongside Leonardo DiCaprio as notorious stock-market manipulator Jordan Belfort. Scorsese's film, as anyone who's seen it once or thrice will agree, certainly didn't take the conservative route when it came to earning its R rating. Fresh off the release of The Legend of Tarzan, Robbie opened up about Wolf's "awkward" sex scenes in a new profile for Vanity Fair.
"Actually, I hadn't done a proper sex scene before," Robbie toldVinyl co-creator Rich Cohen in the interview released Wednesday. "I'd done scenes where it's leading into sex or sex has just finished, but I hadn't done a start-to-finish sex scene like I did in Wolf. That was my first." According to Robbie, simulating sex in front of "tons of people" is about as comfortable as you think.
"There isn't an option," Robbie said. "It's just like, This is what you need to do—get on with it. The sooner you do it, the sooner you can stop doing it." And how awkward is it, exactly? "It's so awkward," Robbie said.
Robbie's surefire summer blockbuster, next month's Suicide Squad, is also briefly discussed in the interview. "[Harley Quinn] loves causing mayhem and destruction," Robbie said. "She's incredibly devoted to the Joker. They have a dysfunctional relationship, but she loves him anyway." Judging by Jared Leto's on-set displays of method acting prowess, that "dysfunctional relationship" involves some very interesting gifts.
