It's Mariah's World and we're all just living in it—this is an irrefutable fact. But what does Complex cover star Mariah Carey think about the other forces at play within the E! Entertainment Television regime, aka the home of her own eight-episode docuseries? If we're talking Kardashians, then the answer just might be as simple as this: shade, man.
Speaking with Complex while promoting Mariah's World, a series that takes a look behind the curtain of her European tour, Carey offered a revealing slice of commentary as to what fans should definitely not expect from her E! venture. "Some of us," Carey told Complex, throwing a glance near a private room just 15 yards away where the Kardashians were filming, "talk about other people and what they do and la la la. But I'm not that person."
That news likely comes as a bit of a bummer for anyone hoping for a detailed look into Carey's life, though what the series does offer (behind-the-scenes tour footage, peeks at her wedding plans) should still keep the fans happy.
2016 has been a good (read: compelling) year for everyone keeping up with Carey-related disagreements and general shade. In June, Demi Lovato inserted herself into the classic Mariah Carey v. Jennifer Lopez feud before (briefly) quitting Twitter and Instagram to presumably dodge the fallout. "Mariah is a legend and is so talented but constantly disses people," Lovato said on Instagram, referencing an Ariana Grande meme. "It's nasty the way she treats Jennifer. [Grande] did nothing wrong."
