This year alone, Rihanna received a masturbation video from her alleged stalker, Gwyneth Paltrow’s received no jail time for the creepy letters he sent over the years, and Lana Del Rey’s got nearly three months in jail for breaking into her home.
A serious subject it may seem, but it’s getting a comedic tune-up with the help of an Avenger and a deputy director of Animal Control.
Elizabeth Olsen and Aubrey Plaza will star in Ingrid Goes West, a dark comedy about a millennial woman named Ingrid (played by Plaza) who becomes obsessed with a social media star named Tyler Sloane, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Ingrid, believing the internet famous starlet is living her best life ever, decides to book it west to become best friends. Things go off the rails once she stars displaying some disturbing and increasingly dangerous behavior.
Matt Spicer, who only directed a few short films before this, will take the helm. Olsen most recently starred in the Hank Williams biopic I Saw the Light opposite Taylor Swift’s beau, Tom Hiddleston. She also popped up in Captain America: Civil War to deliver a much-deserved ass kicking to Vision as the Scarlet Witch.
Plaza, on the other hand, has hovered pretty closely to comedy, with an appearance in an episode of SpongeBob Squarepants and starring alongside Zac Efron, Adam Devine and Anna Kendrick in Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.
