Mike Myers talks about revisiting ‘Wayne’s World’

It's Wayne's World, Wayne's World, party time, excellent!

Ever wonder what Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar would be up to at age 50? Mike Myers is wondering.

As Wayne’s World approaches its 25th anniversary next year, Myers has revealed that he’d be down to revisit the beloved characters that he and Dana Carvey originated on Saturday Night Live. The original Wayne’s World movie hit theatres in 1992 and Wayne's World 2 was released the following year.

“It would be an interesting examination of Wayne at 50,” Myers told the Canadian Press. “I don’t know what it would look like, but the idea of it makes me laugh and Dana (Carvey) and I had a blast at the [‘SNL] 40th anniversary, so I don’t know.” Myers and Carvey reprised their Wayne and Garth characters during the SNL anniversary special last February.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Canadian fans have heard a little Wayne’s World hype this year. In February an Ontario man made headlines when he launched a GoFundMe page to make a Wayne’s World sequel.

Wayne might not be the only character in Myers’ arsenal that audiences will see again.  When asked about any future Austin Powers films, the actor replies, “Everything is being negotiated and worked out and all that stuff.” Oh, behave...

Need a little more of Myers in the meantime? Don’t worry he has a memoir coming out in October. The book is set to look back at Myers relationship with Canada and his career including his iconic characters, Wayne Campbell and Austin Powers.
