Celebrities: They're just like us, posing in front of their soon-to-be alma maters with Louis Vuitton backpacks and hearts full of optimism.

Nick Cannon announced via Instagram on Saturday that he matriculated at Washington, D.C.'s Howard University, which counts the brilliant minds of Toni Morrison, Thurgood Marshall, Zora Neale Hurston, Ta-Nehisi Coates, Roberta Flack, Stokely Carmichael (and many, many others) among its notable alumni.

He'll graduate alongside the class of 2020. No word yet on whether Cannon will be a full time student or what he will study.

The post spurred a bevy of Drumline jokes in his Instagram comments, in which former castmate Orlando Jones decided to participate. He congratulated Cannon on the move via Twitter with some words of wisdom from the movie:

In Drumline, Cannon played a freshman at a historically black college who joined the school's band.

A spokesperson for Howard University and Cannon did not immediately return a request for comment.
