When the equally dope worlds of Marvel and The O.C. come together, you can be certain the end result will be nothing short of interesting. Hulu, already the home of The O.C.'s visual poetry, has landed the drama series adaptation of Marvel's Runaways. Deadlinereported that The O.C. creator Josh Schwartz and Gossip Girl co-creator Stephanie Savage are helming the series, which is based on the comic series by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona.

"I'm a long-time fan of Runaways and couldn't be more excited to bring Brian and Adrian's characters to life," Schwartz, who co-wrote the Runaways pilot with Savage, said in a press release Wednesday.

"Josh and I can't wait to get to work for Marvel and Hulu," Savage added. Hulu's order, which includes a pilot plus additional scripts for a likely full-season greenlight, was first developed as part of the duo's overall deal with ABC Studios and Marvel TV.

For those not up on Runaways, here's a breakdown from Marvel on how the series might play out:

Every teenager thinks their parents are evil. What if you found out they actually were? Marvel's Runaways is the story of six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other but who must unite against a common foe--their parents.

Jeph Loeb, the head of Marvel TV and an executive producer on Runaways and other Marvel properties such as the forthcoming Luke Cage series on Netflix, joined everyone in being hella stoked about the new show. "We've known the Runaways' story would make great television," Loeb said. "Being lucky enough to have Josh and Stephanie, who have time and again created shows that speak so genuinely to this exact audience, write and produce the series is nothing short of remarkable."

Jeph Loeb is right. Remember this (spoiler)?
