Though not quite on the level of, say, walking off a cliff or getting stabbed and eschewing a hospital visit, the latest Pokémon Go horror story is still enough to make you really question your dedication to the game. One player was livestreaming his augmented reality hunt near Central Park over the weekend when an unidentified person mugged him, the Daily Dotreported Monday.

Twitch user Rickeybot was letting viewers in on his pursuit of Pokémon when the assailant ran up from behind and decked him, knocking him to the ground. Rickeybot is then heard saying "Please!" to the unidentified attacker, before the feed eventually cuts off entirely:

After viewers expressed concern for his safety, Rickeybot hit Twitter with an update on his status. Police, he said, have been notified of the incident that left his jaw "a mess."

According to the disturbing video's accompanying Reddit thread, the victim is "going to be fine" and did not suffer a concussion when making contact with the pavement. The assailant is said to have fled on foot before disabling the phone, apparently prompting Twitch to temporarily suspend Rickeybot's account.

Sadly, this livestreamed mugging is far from the first time Pokémon Go has been wrapped up in harrowing headlines. Just last month, a truck driver in the Japanese city of Tokushima accidentally struck two pedestrians while playing the popular mobile game. "I was playing Pokémon Go while driving, so I didn't really see what was in front of me," the driver told police, Kotakureported. One woman was killed during the accident, while the other suffered serious injuries.
