President Barack Obama is plotting his very own music festival. As one of his final acts as President of the United States, the leader of the free world is bringing the one-day festival to the White House.

The event is going to be called South by South Lawn. Clearly, Obama really enjoyed listening to music and talking with the leaders in their respective fields during his time at this year's SXSW as a keynote speaker, and it sounds like he wants to bring that same kind of vibe to the White House before he makes his exit later this year.

Accordingly, the whole thing is in partnership with SXSW and will feature panel discussions, live performances, and short student films. None of the musical acts have been confirmed yet, but we hope Obama consults with his daughter, Malia Obama, who has already proven she has great taste when it comes to music as a fan of artists like Chance the RapperCashmere Cat, and Mac Miller.

In fact, the whole Obama family is reportedly big fans of fellow Chicago native Chance the Rapper and his latest album, Coloring Book. Chance is set to head out on his Magnificent Coloring World Tour this fall, but his tour has nothing going down on the date of Obama's event. Coincidentally, Chance is set to perform in the nation's capital a few days after the Obama festival. Take that to mean what you will, but we wouldn't be surprised if Chance showed up at the White House on October 3 when the South by South Lawn event is set to go down.
