Stephen Colbert and John Oliver are bringing their proven powers of subversion together to help America shake off this year's election. The Last Week Tonight Emmy winner and Late Show host (RIP Colbert Report) are teaming up for Wow, That Was Weird: A Post-Election Evening With Stephen Colbert and John Oliver, the Asbury Park Pressreported Monday. According to the announcement, Colbert and Oliver will take the stage to "riff about" the most depressing election in recent memory.

"At the end of a long, contentious political campaign, we could all use a good laugh," Tom Hall, executive director of the Montclair Film Festival, said Monday. "We are so honored by the generosity of Stephen Colbert and John Oliver in making this once in a lifetime event happen, and we look forward to a fantastic night of fun." The event will serve as a benefit for the Montclair Film Festival, which is an awesome thing to throw comedically earned money at.

Both Oliver and Colbert have been critical of this cycle's party nominees and the press at large, who many argue have contributed to Donald Trump's rise. When asked at this Sunday's Emmys ceremony if he felt personally responsible for Trump's path to the GOP nomination, Oliver minced no words: "The short answer to that is no and the slightly longer answer is no, of course I fucking don't."

Colbert, though clearly a bit constrained by the Late Show format most nights, recently let his own unfiltered thoughts about Trump make their way into headlines. When an audience member asked Colbert during a taping what he would like to say to Trump, dude had an anatomical response ready to go. "Well we're not broadcasting right now, so I'd say, 'What does Vladimir Putin's dick taste like?'" Colbert said to an immediately receptive audience:

These two titans of hilarity will hit us with the collab vibes Nov. 19 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark. As the internet is a thing that exists, even non-attendees should be able to easily get a look at the festivities. Not registered to vote yet and kinda sweating it? Take care of that here.
