Now that we know for sure that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Jumanji is definitely not a reboot, getting stoked about all the teases ahead of its 2017 release is much easier. Johnson and co-star Kevin Hart hit us with a pair of Jumanji cast photos Tuesday, marking a wrap on the first day of shooing:

So, if this 2017 Jumanji isn't a potentially gut-wrenching reboot, then what the hell is it? According to Johnson, this project is actually more of a sequel. "For the record we are NOT making a reboot, but rather a continuation of the awesome JUMANJI story [sic]," Johnson clarified on Instagram last month.

Jumanji stars Johnson as Dr. Smolder Bravestone, Hart as Moose Finbar, Karen Gillan as Ruby Roundhouse, and Jack Black as Professor Shelly Oberon. Jake Kasdan, one of the people responsible for Sex Tape, is directing from a script by Con Air genius Scott Rosenberg. Johnson addressed the fears of Jumanji purists during a chat with Metro surrounding the release of another Hart collab Central Intelligence, promising nothing but goodness to come. "When it comes to a project that's already been out and you want to re-imagine the story you have to surround yourself with great filmmakers, like we have with Jumanji and take a crack at it," Johnson said. "It's not a money thing, we’re doing OK with money, we’re doing OK it’s more so we can introduce Jumanji to a whole new generation."

Jumanji hits theaters July 28, 2017.
