With less than two weeks away from the debut of Marvel's Luke Cage on Netflix, anticipation is high for this take on Harlem in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For those of you who might only know of the indestructible superhero from season 1 of Jessica Jones, Netflix has dropped a quick primer with some key points about his life until now.

For starters, Luke Cage takes place after Jessica Jones. He's taken his talents to Harlem, where instead of cleaning up the streets, he's cleaning up hair in a barber shop, trying to figure out his place in life. As showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker put it, "[H]e has powers he didn't ask for, the woman he fell in love with is dead, and he was put in prison for a crime he didn't commit." That's a lot to put on your back—even if it can't be broken.

The featurette also breaks down Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes' angle as a gunrunner in Harlem, with a quick glimpse at how these two end up butting heads. The journey of Luke Cage highlights how a different hero for a different time (which feels just like what we've been going through today) finds his way.

Catch season 1 of Luke Cage in its entirety when it drops via Netflix on September 30.
