Let's be real. Whatever relationship you're in right now is probably shit compared to this. As revealed during a podcast chat with the one and only RuPaul this week, Legion star Aubrey Plaza and Sausage Party hot dog Michael Cera were somehow able to date for a "long time" back in the day without anyone even knowing about it until now.
After RuPaul introduced Plaza to his What's the Tee? audience with a Parks and Recreation mention, the 2010 film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World got hit with some well-earned praise. For those who frequently fail to see good movies, here's a quick catch-up: Scott Pilgrim stars Cera, Plaza, and a bunch of other dope (i.e. Kieran Culkin) people.
"I dated him for a long time," Plaza said when RuPaul noted Cera's sex appeal, as first spotted byVanity Fair on an otherwise uneventful Wednesday afternoon. When asked what exactly qualified as a "long time" for someone her age, she revealed they were actually very much a thing for a year and a half. "We drove across the country after we shot [Scott Pilgrim] and almost got married in Vegas," Plaza said.
Though the two are no longer together, Plaza told RuPaul they remain very close. "We love each other," Plaza said. "We're still really good friends. He's just a weird little freak. We speak the same language." How sweet. Now go watch Scott Pilgrim.
