Seth Meyers often rivals Jimmy Fallon for the title of late night television’s resident nice guy, but on Thursday, the Late Night host ditched that persona with an obscenity-laced rant about the proximity between Thanksgiving and Christmas

The tirade was the latest installment of his popular segment “At This Point in the Broadcast,” in which Meyers threatens to launch into a diatribe about a random topic, before being interrupted by a voiceover speaking on behalf of NBC’s executive branch. Rather than get Meyers’ unfiltered thoughts, we get a watered down version that adheres to “network policy” instead.

As it turns out, Meyers' issue with having the two biggest holidays of the year so close together really comes down to turkey.

“There is something that I have been meaning to get off my chest for a while now and… I usually don’t air my personal opinions on the show, and, uh, this one has gotten me into trouble in the past. But I’m sorry, I have to say this: Thanksgiving is too close to Christmas!” Meyers’ begins.

According to the late night host, it's all just a “totally whack” scam perpetrated by the fitness industry to sell a ton of gym memberships come January, when everyone’s looking to shed the extra weight they gained over the holidays.

Meyers later takes aim at Black Friday, the annual ritual which he deems more painful than fighting a gorilla, drinking Windex, and doing something that involves his “junk” and a Nutribullet. After watching this video, we have no choice but to agree. Watch Meyers’ epic rant above.
