The 2003 holiday movie, Elf, definitely made our must-watch list for Christmas movies, but after watching this brand new trailer, we're really considering scratching it from the roster. Some one recently re-cut the feel-good comedy, transforming it into a dark and twisted thriller, and it's actually pretty terrifying.

You may remember the movie, which stars Will Ferrell as Buddy the Elf. After having grown up amongst elves his entire life, Buddy accidentally discovers he was put up for adoption by a family living in New York City. The movie's plot follows Buddy to the Big Apple, where he seeks to form a relationship with his biological father Walter Hobbs (played by James Caan), all while spreading the Christmas cheer to everyone he comes in contact with.

In the new trailer, however, Buddy is no longer the happy-go-lucky giant elf with a heart of gold. Instead, he's a sinister and troubled character, who appears to want to wreak havoc on his father's life. In addition to chilling clips manipulated into horror scenes, horrifying music also adds to the effect in the two-minute video.

In the past, this same anonymous source under the name "CineFix" has altered other movies including Finding Dory, which was also turned into a thriller. And crime drama Fargo was turned into a comedy, while 1998's There's Something About Mary was transformed into a psychological drama.

Thankfully, the Elf trailer or any of the other ones are not real. But if it were real, this definitely isn't a flick that anyone would want to watch on Christmas Day or ever for that matter.
