UPDATE 12/28/2016 4:20PM: Hold your horses; it looks like Wade Wilson himself While we sourced this from The Wrap, Ryan Reynolds has hit Twitter negating their initial report.

Sadly, not true. Prisoner 24601 is on a solo mission. https://t.co/5czBmMRfY1

Now, what does this mean, exactly? The original tweeter's question was if Deadpool appears alongside Logan in Logan, to which Reynolds basically says "no." The Wrap did point out that they believe what was filmed was a post-credits scene of some sort, so Reynolds could be telling the truth without revealing everything, you feel me?

Either way, Logan director James Mangold is going IN on The Wrap, calling them the "show biz Brietbart," among other things.

Maybe @TheWrap is the show biz Breitbart. #fakenews
"@TheWrap has not reported Deadpool & Logan would appear side-by-side." Cause Deadpool ain't in the film, pal. Keep backtracking.#fakenews

Whatever the case may be, we'll find out the final truth when Logan hits theaters on March 3, 2017.

Original story is below.

After a friendly back and forth that found Ryan Reynolds throwing multiple shots at Hugh Jackman and Wolverine in Deadpool (which Hugh finally clapped back at earlier this month), it looks like Reynolds' wish to have (a proper) Deadpool x Wolverine movie have come true... sort of.

As The Wrap reports, Ryan Reynolds has reportedly filmed a scene for the upcoming movie Logan, which is said to be Hugh Jackman's last portrayal as Wolverine. They go on to say that not only was this scene directed by John Wick co-director David Leitch (who will be in the director's chair for Deadpool 2), but that this scene will be some kind of post-credits scene. There's no information on if Logan/Wolverine is in the scene, and for the time being, Fox isn't commenting.

For fans of Wolverine and the Merc With the Mouth, this could be necessary closer. We all remember X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the 2009 film that found Ryan Reynolds portraying Deadpool for the first time; while his initial scene found him being the chatty Cathy we all know Deadpool is, the ending of the film gave us a different, wack Deadpool who quite literally had his mouth sewn shut. It was a terrible blemish on the spotty X-Men movie universe, but we're glad that Reynolds and company found a way to more than make up it with the record-breaking Deadpool.

Logan, which hits theaters on March 3, 2017, is said to be taking place in 2024 during a time when the numbers of new mutants being born has declined. We see an old AF Logan taking care of an equally-old AF Charles Xavier during a time when they both find new mutant, Laura, who possesses the same powers that Logan does. Anyone up on Wolverine's comic book history knows there is a female clone of Wolverine in the comics; her name is Laura, aka X-23, and in the current Marvel Comics world, she's at the forefront of the All-New Wolverine series.

Truth be told, whatever this Deadpool scene for Logan is feels like it's a sweet reward for Deadpool not only making people care about the X-Men movie universe, but for being such a bloody success that it coaxed Fox to give Logan a hard R rating as well. Fair play to everyone, although this could just end up being a minute-long scene that sets up a tiny piece of the upcoming Deadpool 2, which is said to be eyeing a 2018 release.
