While the rest of us have been battling Trump-induced insomnia over the past few weeks, former POTUS Barack Obama has been photographed chilling extremely hard and mastering the art of kitesurfing. Speaking with Seth Meyers following the season premiere of Last Week Tonight, John Oliver gave Obama a suggestion: Apply that method of extreme chilling to the act of sharing vacation photos.

"I'm not sure I've ever kicked back in my life," Oliver said on Monday's Late Night, explaining that his months-long hiatus was by no means a vacation. "I don't think I have the personality to kick back." Obama, Oliver said, might benefit from a similar aversion to kicking back (or at least beingphotographed kicking back).

"This might be controversial," Oliver said. "I'm a little sick of seeing photos of President Obama on vacation with Richard Branson. Just tone it down with the kitesurfing pictures! I'm glad he's having a nice time. America is on fire! I know that people have accused him of being out of touch with the American people during his presidency, [but] I'm not sure he's ever been more out of touch than he is right now."

For his first new Last Week Tonight of 2017, Oliver spent nearly the full 30 minutes outlining his preferred method of calling Trump on his bullshit. "Any policy discussion has to begin with a shared sense of reality, and Trump's reality can change within a single sentence," Oliver explained.

To ensure Trump's exposure to facts, Oliver took out a series of fact-based TV ads on the former Apprentice host's preferred networks.
