Matthew Perry Claims He Used To Beat Up Justin Trudeau

Chandler Bing, I mean Matthew Perry, has his very own story about encountering Justin Trudeau. In an appearance Jimmy Kimmel, Perry talks about how he and his friends used to beat up Trudeau when they were all kids attending an Ottawa Public School.

The Friends actor, who was born in the U.S., but moved to Canada with his mother after his parents split isn’t exactly proud of this story. “I think he was excelling at a sport that we weren't, so it was pure jealousy. And, you know, we beat him up. His dad was prime minister, but I don't think that's the reason we beat him up. I think he was the only kid in school we could beat up... I'm not bragging about this. This is terrible. I was a stupid kid.”

Perry’s mother worked for the Liberal Party of Canada and eventually got a job as a press aide for then-PM, Pierre Trudeau. Clearly, being the child of the country's leader didn’t make Justin off-limits to bullies. If anything, it might have made him more of a target (that, or that fact that he was good at sports).

"I think I was rather instrumental in him going to such heights, becoming prime minister," Perry joked to Kimmel. "No, no. I feel shame. I don't want to think about it.”
